Two-Piece Tattoo
Have your tattoo artist design a Pisces tattoo that is complete only when you hold your arms, hands, feet or calves side by side. Tattoo a fish on each hand, for example, each with a small cord, so that they become one unified Pisces sign when you hold your hands side by side. Have one fish tattooed right-side up and the other upside down so that they appear to be swimming in opposite directions.
Water Theme
Embellish your Pisces tattoo with a water theme. Include water lilies, river rocks and air bubbles. Have the artist make the two fish in the tattoo red or orange and color the background items green, teal and light blue for a dramatic contrast.
Glyph
Have your tattoo artist design a customized Pisces glyph, the letter form associated with the constellation. The Pisces glyph resembles a stylized capital “H,” with the top and bottom points of the vertical lines bowing outward. Blend the glyph into a tribal tattoo or have it tattooed on your forearm, calf or anywhere else you want an uncomplicated yet dramatic vertical tattoo.
Hit the Books
Head to the library, used bookstore or antique store and look up Pisces in the oldest encyclopedia or dictionary you can find. Antique publications often feature stylized illustrations of the zodiac signs that you can copy for a one-of-a-kind Pisces tattoo. Since libraries usually don’t allow patrons to check out reference books, make a photocopy of the zodiac sign to bring to your tattoo artist or take a clear digital photo of the sign. Check with the owner of a bookstore or antique store before taking photographs of the merchandise.
Choose Your Fish
Choose any type of fish you like for your Pisces tattoo. Two sharks will make for a masculine Pisces tattoo, for example, while two highly stylized goldfish will give your tattoo an Oriental flair.
